How We Do It

We can visit your location, bringing portable studio lighting, or you can come to us in Elizabeth Bay Sydney. We use latest available high resolution photographic equipment. We consult with you about the photo style prior to the shoot to ensure that the portraits suit client needs when it comes to house styles and eventual usage.

When the photos have been taken, usually around 30 per person, we load the images to a web gallery and clients choose the one they most like for final retouching and delivery by email or on a CD.

Portrait Preparation

Clothing

Clothing for corporate portraits should suit your objectives, in terms of the level of formality etc. Consistency across a batch involving a number of people for a particular client is also usually a consideration.

High contrast combinations, such as a dark jacket, white shirt and bold tie, scarf or accessories work well. Clothing should be freshly ironed. Pastels and busy patterns are best avoided and clothing should be freshly ironed.

Hair

Hair, particularly for women, is one of the most important things to prepare for a good portrait outcome. Freshly styled hair is a big advantage. For men a recent haircut, and freshly shaven is also a good idea.

Makeup – Skin

Makeup is important for women, and most women are quite adept at applying makeup that best suits them. However you may choose to have professional makeup applied for the shoot. A local salon is able to provide services for both hair and makeup preparation, in much the same way as one might prepare for wedding photographs. In general …shine is the enemy people!

Corporate Portrait Retouching

We retouch all corporate portraits to some degree. Portraits often need finalising with whitening of the eyes and teeth, blemish removal and generally retouching for a polished and flattering result.

Location Requirements

We have a space for portrait shoots. If the job is an outcall, we need at least around 20 square metres, a medium sized room. We often shoot in boardrooms, and can shoot across the top of a boardroom table.

Proofing and Image Selection

After the shoot clients use the web gallery to choose their final images for retouching. Once we receive the choices, we will take one to two days to finalise the retouching and return the images by email or on a CD.

Timing and Prices

Our prices are as follows:

Individual corporate portraits

$150 - Single headshot at our location (package includes one retouched final
image)

$230 - Single headshot at your location if in or near the Sydney CBD or North Sydney (package includes one retouched final image)

Corporate Portrait Batches

We charge $150 per hour (including travel, setup, admin and the shoot) and $30 per final retouched image. So for example a typical CBD shoot would be something like this:

$450 - 3 hrs @ $150 (including travel, setup, admin and the shoot)
$240 - 8 final retouched images @ $30 each
$690 - Total

Images sent by email or yousentit e-courier are free, for a CD with all of the images the fee is $30

Payment

Advance payment is not required. We invoice clients on completion of the work. Corporate Photography Sydney retains the copyright on the images, by photographic industry convention. However we do not charge any further royalties on the images to the clients, clients have full further usage rights over their images.
